Guitar Player Magazine’s July issue spotlights the Rocktron Intimidator Distortion stomp box, developed with guitar great Gary Hoey (who GP calls “one of the nicest guys in the music biz”). Calling Hoey’s signature product “a great-sounding, easy-to-use pedal that also delivers a ton of output”, Guitar Player points out that the Intimidator controls “are straightforward enough.” GP delves into those controls and writes that the unique Punish knob “sculpts mid frequencies for a wide variety of sounds, from light crunch to singing sustain.”
"It's tough to put Gary Hoey in a box, but Rocktron by GHS has done it." The quote from the latest Gear Review online from Guitar World sums up the tone and intent of the Intimidator Signature Distortion pedal.
"This is a seriously high-gain distortion pedal. t doesn't clean up well, it doesn't return phone calls, it doesn't whisper, it screams!"
